Sitting here in my class, yes I am on Tumblr in my class (don’t judge), and I’m just thinking about how I live my life. This weekend really tested my patience with life, money, and stress. I sit back now looking at it thinking that I just freaked out over nothing because everything worked out. How or why it worked out, I don’t know, but I’m so happy that it did. 

Going places and doing things as a college student is risky business because of how poor we truly are. This weekend I decided to go to Atlanta for my best friends birthday…but I almost didn’t get back. Money was tight when I left, and I honestly shouldn’t have gone, but I’m back to school and I had no reason to stress out for nothing. 

So now for the ultimate question, why do we as humans worry about tomorrow, forget about yesterday, and just live in today? Why can’t we just calm down and leave everything up to God? Why do human beings have such a hard time letting go of their selfishness?

It’s because we are human. Human nature is to live for ourselves. That is exactly why Jesus came to earth to forgive us. Now think about it. Jesus had everything in Heaven, isn’t that where we all want to go in our end time? He had everything that we can only dream of, yet He came down here to earth…this place of corruption, pollution, and failure…and did it for the good of us. Wow…just how amazing is that though. Someone loves me enough to come to this place where sin is just engulfing and forgave me of every wrong doing I could ever possibly do. 

He also came here to let us know He was real and that He really can take everything that you have, all your burdens, stress, and worries and just lift them off your shoulders and take them upon His. Just close your eyes and imagine Jesus taking your baggage and holding them for His own. Putting them upon Himself so we can be happy and stress free. It’s like a guy holding your shopping bags for you or carrying a suitcase for you. It’s relief for you to not hold those while you continue walking around and it’s so cute when a guy does that. But honestly it’s the same thing as what Jesus did for us. He does that everyday. He takes our bags, our suitcases full of all of our worries, our stress, our anger, our regret, our sins and holds them, even get’s rid of them for you. 

How could someone not love a God like that? How can people be so cold to someone who does that? It’s beyond me…but I know that my Lord Jesus Christ is the only one I want to lean on when I need comfort. The only one I want to look to when I am down. The only one I want to think about in the darkest times and give everything to…including my life. To praise Him during the happiest moments in my life. 

All glory and honor and praise go to Him on high. 

So all in all…don’t worry about tomorrow, cry over yesterday, and only being a moving vessel today. Make a difference in what you are doing today. Use your talents to spread the Gospel. Tomorrow will take care of itself and yesterday has already past. Everything will work out because of Him, but only if you let Him.
